betting on Elon's ability to make a company worth a lot of money for investors It all depends on how you define "worth". Is Tesla "worth" a P/E ratio of 385? I personally don't think so --- not based on the fundamentals, not based on their actual performance in the marketplace. Maybe what investors are really betting on is Elon's ability to convince people to pay these sort of outlandish prices for a stock with poor fundamentals. In other words, they're betting on his ability to promote a new fantasy similar to the one he has been successfully selling for 2 decades. |
