We had Fortran converted to ADA semi automatically at a place I worked.

We called it Adatran.

That code was weird and very hard to maintain. That goodness it was just small functions.

If you ran that converter multiple times, did you get the same output? I think that's the crux with automated codebase conversion via LLMs, I'd really want to focus on making everything as reproducible as possible first, not use a general agent and just vibe it together.
We’d get the same every time. It wasn’t great but it did work.
This is my fear wrt Bun. That they have translated Zig into non-idiomatic Rust.
Real fortran programmer can write fortran code in any language
But only as long as they don't eat quiche.
