Microsoft knows this. Just now at the BUILD keynote they showed off some kind of dev edition of Windows that didn't have the widgets and crap, they're shipping coreutils (uutils) in windows, improving the terminal, etc. It's too late, I think they should have done all of this a really long time ago, but at least they see that they are bleeding mind and marketshare and recognize why. |
