As much as I like to hate MCP, it has a place in its accessibility outside terminal based agents and in its ability to wrangle data before it’s consumed by the agent requesting it. Sure you can use a cli tool and jq. Most cli tools that interact with third party providers are just APIs so you could argue it could be replaced with a curl. |
