I'm not sure if I've seen a pin either though I've had submissions killed off for no apparent reason I could figure out. [It was truncated files from a server, there's a server issue I should know but forgot about long ago, I'm out of the game since injury a couple decades ago, I only lurk out of interest.]

As to your bad luck, I couldn't say it as well as msalihberk already stated, but also add it doesn't hurt to reply to members if they've asked an obvious question. Unfortunately that reply is marked dead so here's the quote of msalihberk below in case you have not set options to see dead posts.

> "It looks like you're caught in a feedback loop here. Hacker News has a very sensitive automated system for self-promotion; posting the same project 14 times in a short period triggers a 'spam' flag, which results in your posts being automatically 'dead' or 'flagged.'

Additionally, HN is primarily a space for technical discussion. Following up on that with a 'roast me' thread about a sensitive topic isn't just 'roasting'—it’s seen by the community as off-topic or baiting, which causes users to manually flag your account.

The system isn't 'pinning' you to hurt you personally; it’s just enforcing its guidelines. If you stop posting for a while and eventually return with a unique, high-quality technical contribution without self-promoting, you’ll likely find that the system (and the users) will be much more receptive."
