I have an ICE vehicle with keyless entry. Of course, it has a physical key as backup in case the keyless doesn't work or the battery dies. The physical key triggers an electronic switch. There's no mechanical link. There's no way at all to enter the vehicle if the battery dies. Which is problematic because you can't charge the battery without accessing the hood release inside the electronically locked cabin. The Nissan engineers must have been smoking something great that day |
