> At the national level, 58 Democrats voted against a resolution to posthumously honor Kirk. Why does being assassinated mean they should be posthumously honored? He farmed clips from uneducated impromptu college debaters to push a narrative that included "some gun deaths are worth it" and that women and minorities are often selected only for DEI reasons and you should worry if they are your doctor or pilot. He was not a nice or honorable person, regardless of the situation in which he was killed. I don't endorse or support the assassination of Kirk (I assume you will jump to that conclusion based on how you read Kimmel and Dowd's comments), but we have to be real... he wasn't honorable, and the "free speech" and "encouraging debate" aspect of his career was mostly for YouTube views and political gain, not an actual conversation to improve mutual understanding. |
