I use it to host: - Movies/TV - File sync - Game servers (e.g. Minecraft) - S3 - CI/CD - All of my projects on https://github.com/shepherdjerred/monorepo In the past I would use AWS, CloudFlare Workers, etc. but now all of my compute/storage is local (except remote backups) The SATA drives are in RAID5 so it is less usable space, too. I have actually ran out of space in the past. It’s definitely, like, sysadmin LARP, but it has taught me a _lot_ over the last decade or so. The ROI is definitely there considering it helps me be better at my job. |
