Slop rhymes with a flop. Since Nov 30, 2022 I have written a lot of “slopped code” and I can confirm that code was unreadable after a week or two - I don’t remember what it was about, even with documentation. It was a code written by a foreigner. I think that a lot of programmers/coders had this feeling previously before AI - it is normal for coders as for writers that they don’t read their own work. But with manually written code the oblivion happens after a long time. So AI-assisted code isn't just written quickly - it's written too quickly, so almost no one is able to work with it in the second round. It is probably skill issue in my case :) but kudos to all the exceptions. |
