My friend John Kelley and his band Kelley's Heroes released his new composition "Daisy" on Bandcamp yesterday. John's lyrics incorporate important themes of politics, culture and technology. I think the song Daisy addresses all three. My interpretation of the lyrics is that it flips the script of the singing of "Daisy" by HAL in Clarke's and Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" in which Dave disassembles the mind of a machine. In John's song, we find the AI slowly disassembling a human psyche. |
