How can you be a competent Professional Engineer and not have created and updated thousands of documents for your projects?

There are all the proposals, visualizations, blueprints, signs offs of your engineering calculations, etc? Keeping track of all the correspondence including filings with regulators, inspections, testing results, and as-designed vs as-built blueprints alone must be a huge pain.

Not to mention project management, scheduling, critical path analysis, Gantt charts, etc.

As you do with engineering, so does everyone else in their own roles. The world would grind to a halt without documentation and archives of correspondence, etc.

I'm surprised you don't know how the enterprise you're part of makes a profit.
