The way I addressed your "standards" issue is to just reference the book "Code Complete (2nd edition)" http://www.cc2e.com/ and tell developers to follow all of those guidelines. It's a long book but well worth reading, and generally applicable to most any procedural or OO language. For Java specifically our "standards" also incorporate the book "Effective Java (2nd edition)" http://www.informit.com/store/effective-java-9780321356680 . |
