It's probably impossible but bring back the judicial filibuster. If a judge knows that get confirmed in the Senate they'll have to have bipartisan support then you'll end up with a group of judges desperate to appeal to everyone and alienate no one.

That requires both parties operating in good faith. When someone as milquetoast as Garland can't even get a vote under GOP control, but they'll push through a justice as unqualified as Barrett or as mired in controversy Kavanaugh, expecting enough bipartisanship for that to be workable is just unrealistic.
