How to background play without YouTube Premium on iPhone

From the looks of it, the trigger for YouTube to pause the video is based on the Lock Button. In my case, I’ve bound the Double Tap feature in accessibility to Lock Screen, and I can use it to have videos playing in the background on YouTube.

I hope it doesn’t get fixed anytime soon, haha.

The latest iOS release made this more difficult to do via Safari.

I use skipvids.com audio (aud button) mode. It works most of the time in Safari on iOS. You can also watch in PiP (Picture-in-picture) mode.

Just watch YouTube inside of Brave, you can enable background playback in the settings and it can block ads and shorts
