Those who can actually do these things have a very technical skill like that of a mental contortionist. Another clue that Julia is “handled” is her casual sense. Those with these actual skills know there is a serious crisis, that of this “secret war.”

I reject that frame. I think maybe that's true for you, but I believe everyone can create their own reality. So just be careful what you use that great power for - you can build a heaven, or a hell around you.
