Obviously all terms are open to interpretation. Nevertheless, speech acts still have concrete intentions and meanings. Observe: - "Cultural differences" - Selective and intentionally ungrammatical quoting - "You can't" used in place of "we would like you not to" That sure don't look like the sort of honest misconception that can be resolved by good faith argument, pardner. |
