I've been using *nix and usenet since the early 1990's. I always thought "editor wars" was a particularly dumb in-joke among a small group and I feel sad when I see people who think it was ever more than that. The Wikipedia page cites "The Jargon File" as an authoritative source of truth. Ridiculous. |
