What do you mean? Do you mean that automated agents will needlessly download your code for no reason to bump up your numbers? Or do you mean that you can't compare your own project to other ones because they might be faked?

I wish more people would realize this. If there is a star/like/follow/review/rating anywhere on any web site, there is definitely going to be at least one service out there where you can purchase those stars/likes/follows/reviews/ratings in bulk.

If any end user can have an effect on something, then it is not a useful signal of quality.

Yes, one can easily setup agents to bump up the stars, increase pip downloads etc
You don't need to use agents to download, pull or fork code believe it or not
