From a security perspective, centralization cuts both ways. Large platforms like GitHub have strong security teams and fast patching, but they also concentrate risk. A single vulnerability or abuse pattern can affect a huge portion of the ecosystem. Decentralizing critical infrastructure doesn’t eliminate risk, but it distributes it.
