People got to Oregon in the 1800s on wagons, I don't think cars will revolutionize personal travel. Having infinite, instantaneous, amoral agents of the state analyzing video for patterns - some of which humans can't immediately notice - will revolutionize government oppression. And just because NK can already do oppression with a heavy hand doesn't mean western countries won't up their game with more subtlety. |
