the best implementation i've worked with was SuperSmartLog (SSL) at Meta, which was open-sourced at interactive smartlog (https://sapling-scm.com/docs/addons/isl/). There are also extension for it in VSCode, etc. Surprisingly it never gained the adoption it deserved. |
