In 2015 Apple refused to push an update, specific to one user, to weaken the iPhone's encryption to help the FBI While it didn't (IIRC) make a meaningful difference to the FBI, it was still a positive stance taken by Apple (albiet to aid their marketing for equating iPhone with privacy, but I'm content to avoid looking that gift horse in the mouth) |
