I didn't read the linked article because it's paywalled but I was able to find relevant information on multiple other websites. So RPi stock went up ~40% because of a twitter post saying RPis can run OpenClaw and are cheaper than Apple hardware? None of that makes any sense to me. Are people really that stupid?

Yes. Most people have close to zero understanding of tech, and are instead very heavily influenced by what they hear and see online, on social etc. They won’t think too deeply about the detail and therefore will make false assumptions.
The past decade has led to the scales falling from my eyes as I come to understand just how incredibly stupid and short-sighted people are.

Even worse, there is a direct correlation between the most stubborn people being the most short-sighted, as they refuse to change course no matter the cost.

Stupid how? You can easily run OpenClaw on an RPi.
It won't be useful though. Raspberry Pi is too slow to run local AI models. Buying a second hand Optiplex would give you 10x the performance at the same price and that still wouldn't be enough to run a proper local AI model at decent speed. You kinda need a GPU for that.

Donald Trump is President.

RFK Jr. is Secretary of Health and Human Services

Linda McMahon is Secretary of Education

...

Do you really have any doubts about the limits of stupidity? :-(

There is a considerable overlap between people who believe that a reality tv personality has real power and those who believe that reality tv is unscripted.
American. It’s pronounced Ameri-can.
