Similar with salary. If you want a raise, you need to ask for it. It's sad, but that's what it is. (I'm aware of some companies that do raise the salary annually, and there is also the performance benefit if you have it, but I don't think that's common). That, and the "you need to change companies frequently (at most one each year)" are the two things I always say to people on a computer science career. |
