I wrote my university thesis 25 years ago on automating some parts of art traffic management. The fact that it's "humans over radio" coordinating everything sounded ridiculous already back then. but it's still "don't fix what ain't broken" situation - the system works surprisingly well, if you think of it, and nobody has balls (nor political power) to truly reform it. |
