We built Fornland — a React + TypeScript app using MapLibre GL that pulls live data from national heritage databases across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. Sources include WFS services (kulturarv.dk, Fornsök, Kulturminnesøk), ArcGIS REST APIs, Wikidata SPARQL, and OSM Overpass. 15 layers covering everything from Bronze Age rock art to Viking runestones. Enriched with Wikipedia, Europeana, and Wikimedia Commons. Free, no login, no tracking. |
