The pattern you found maps to what I've seen too — most feedback exchanges are symmetric in the worst way: people who want feedback aren't giving it, so the people who could give it stop showing up. The projects that get real feedback usually have someone who already has credibility in the space, so feedback feels like talking to a peer rather than being recruited as a tester.
