Piano tunings are also "stretched" so that the harmonics are more in tune. This is especially needed on verticals and short "baby" grands. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stretched_tuning I have software I use when I tune my Bosendorfer 290 that calculates the stretch. Of course, the final tweaks are done by ear. |
