In a normal, mature government, advocacy for your nation's products would be reasonable, and even then, would be controversial in this instance. "Do not protect your citizens' privacy, our citizens might get ideas". I think it's the assumptions that are baked in with the Trump regime. No subtlety, no mutual benefit, do as we say or else. |
