The question should be is Canada willing to extract or ship those minerals? In the case of oil, they're mostly only willing to do that if the US absorbs all of the risk - such as piping it across US farmland and aquifers to ship from ports in the Gulf of Mexico. I don't think they really have the appetite for any heavy industry.

What a bizarre take on the world. US megacorps building pipelines in the US, so they can process it and profit, equates to Canada doing it?

Meanwhile, we have pipelines to the coasts already, for our other customers.
