Malaysians call it CNY. Part of it is because Korean, Mongolian, etc are more of a minority here. I think another part of it is because the Islamic year is also lunar, which makes it more confusing. Especially this year, where CNY coincides with Ramadan.

I’m lazy so I just say Happy new year.
They're not mutually exclusive.
