Highly entertaining to me that people will form these Woe Is Me rings and just hype themselves into sadness. Then you give them a few minutes and they’ll start exclaiming about how society is all about loneliness these days and how they’ve been going to therapy for the last five years. The miserable have always been miserable. And no matter how much the world improves, they will find paths to misery. Perhaps the great lesson of this age is that some revel in sadness. Perhaps what we desire as humans is intensity of emotion more than valence. |
