People don’t hate AI because they’re scared of it taking their jobs. They hate it because it’s massively overhyped while simultaneously being shoved down their throats like it’s a panacea. If and when AI, whether in LLM form or something else, actually demonstrates genuine intelligence as opposed to clearly probabilistic babble and cliche nonsense, people will be a lot more excited and open to it. But what we have currently is just dogshit with a few neat tricks to cover up the smell.

this feels like a comment out of 2023. Ever since reasoning models they have become much more than "probabilistic babble".
Hence why I mentioned a few tricks to cover the shit smell.
The U trap turned out to be a lot more useful than a "trick". It's one of two reasons we managed to get indoor plumbing (which is a pretty huge win for personal comfort IMO).
