As the OP, one of the reasons for (re)posting this well-known work is to elicit informative comments from physicists/knowledgeable people like yourself. What i was looking for is the pros/cons of this work, comparisons with other similar works, other authors whose texts that a student should study etc.

Another commenter also mentioned Sommerfeld/Landau/Schwinger's works. Would you mind posting details of the works of the authors you have listed and how students interested in Physics should read and navigate them?
