I thought all of this should have been clear in the first post, but I guess it wasn't. The problem is not using the Internet, but being expected to use it for things where there isn't a clear domain requirement for it. The immorality I describe is on the part of the entity expecting Internet usage, not the user. The issue is that I paid money for my hardware to own it outright, and this expectation makes it feel like I no longer actually fully own that hardware. |
