In Germany it used to be that in some places, not only you were expected to have a proper application folder with various sections for the various kinds of material (CV, application letter, recomendantions, certificates, photo), they would post it back if refused. This stopped being a thing about 15 years ago though. I still have some of those applications in a box somewhere. |
