I have a few friends either without degrees or degrees in unrelated areas working as engineers for Google. In my experience, most tech companies were always a bit flexible for that. Google at their beginning, was a bit anal about wanting only PhDs from Stanford, but this was really during their initial years. It is like Facebook that once wanted only young people and now have their share of greybeards. It is traditional economy companies and consultancies like Accenture that usually don't have exceptions for people without formal credentials. |
