Sports betting is particularly galling because the actual prediction is so unimportant. The only real reason to care whether Jontay Porter is credited with three or fewer rebounds in a basketball game is to win a bet about it. You're encouraging people to waste their money just so that you can use the Wisdom of Crowds to predict something completely worthless. |
