I created a tool for exactly this purpose. http://www.peerviewr.com. It is very early and very rough, but the goal is to solve the problem you mention. It allows you to post links, youtube links, upload files and pictures, and create blog posts. You can share within your group only or it can be made public. It is basically a combination between Google Groups and Wordpress. I would love to make it grow with your feedback.
