The US have been actively undermining and attacking Iran for several decades now. Since the dictator they put in power got overthrown actually. You can say it's a good thing or a bad thing, but you cannot say they do nothing

The intensity of protests and the general experience of the population with living in a saner society were much weaker in Libya, if memory serves.
