Do comment threads not 'fold' anymore on HN?

I seem to recall tapping the “next (-)” to fold the comment thread on a HN post. Is this a new change? I definitely like the folding as it was easier to read on mobile.

Next scrolls to the next thread. [-] collapses.

Damn, I find it impossible to click the - on mobile. Maybe my fingers are too fat now.
