It's not justified; this is a tragedy that should not have happened (though FWIW I think it's believable that officer was in fear of his life from the car). It's just that since many Democrats have largely made it clear that they don't intend to enforce the law or the EOs of the elected president, both of which philosophically constitute the will of the people, federal agents have had to get involved in an unsavory way, with predictable collateral damage. I would prefer we just had governors enforce the law in a normal way, but here we are. "MAGA Americans" did not spring into being from a petri dish, their deplorable views fully formed; they have seen decades of non-action or subversive action from politicians in regards to immigration law, having come to believe the current sort of ICE deployment is necessary to achieve immigration law enforcement. As they say, those who make peaceful something impossible make violent something inevitable. |
