Maybe, but the southwest of the US uses more water than it has and can import. With droughts and overconsumption, the water supply is at risk. See

Nevada only uses a small percentage of the Colorado river water (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_River_Compact
). Most of the water is used for farming in the desert.
