I think the article has a good point about the extent that customers will tolerate being abused by Microsoft. It's way too obvious that Microsoft has taken the situation for granted, but things can shift, like in the way there are almost no Windows smartphones and they got beaten-up in the mobile OS market. People have been saying that Linux on the desktop is coming, for years, but it really does feel like a significant shift is happening.
