The Israel/Palestine topic is discussed extensively on HN each time there is a major breaking story with significant new information. Dang and I have gone to great efforts to create space for these discussions and keep them as healthy as possible [1]. Some posts about the topic get flagged by some community members for being off-topic or likely to start flamewars, but this has nothing to do with 'silencing' any particular viewpoint.
