That doesn't sound right. The hyperactivity can express itself in many ways, as you say – not necessarily physically.
Is your practitioner maybe really old? They changed the definition in 1987. According to DSM‑5‑TR and ICD-11, ADHD is subdivided into three presentations: predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and combined. |
