There's probably substantial regional variations on this. Where I live (which is not a particularly wealthy area, but does have a strong coffee culture), there are both cheap coffee shops and coffee shops that are a bit more expensive but pay their employees reasonable wages. Both are doing very well and as far as I know, nobody has closed their doors. |
