Most useful tips for founders that have to make first sales for their SaaS
1 points by cbenjumea 213 days ago
I'm building an EdTech SaaS in Spain (vocational guidance for high school students) and need to get my first 3-5 paid customers.

I've got: - Working product - Some interest from a municipality - No existing customers/case studies

What actually worked for you to close those critical first sales?

Especially interested in: - How did you find the right first customers? - Free pilot vs. paid from day 1? - What convinced them to say yes? - How long from first contact to signed agreement?

Any tactical advice appreciated.

Best, Christian

Finding first customers is tough we just talked directly to people with the exact pain point offered short pilot that turned paid if it worked showing quick wins helped a lot first deal took like a month but after that word spread faster
URL? IS it in Spanish? [Hi from Argentina!]
Hi! Yes it is! here it goes: https://mypotential.app/

Un abrazo!

I get the Spanish version. Is it reading the browser configuration or there is only a Spanish version?

Are the answer of the form read by humans or AI? How private is it? When I have to pay?

It looks hard to get long term customers. It looks more like a single time use, when the guy/gal is in the last year of high school.

Do you want to sell this to schools? To the parents?

I usually recommend to read the post by patio11: https://www.kalzumeus.com/greatest-hits/ The problem is that I can't find one that is relevant for you. So take a look in case you can find one. They are very interesting anyway.

Very sorry for the late answer. Rigt now is only in spanish as we are getting first into this market.

And you are totally right. We are currently changing our landing to match our ICP. Thanks very much for the link, looks fantastic! Already bookmarked several links to dive in them.

Could we connect via LinkedIn? I appreciate very much your insights and would love to be in touch. This is my profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christianbenjumeaulfsparre/
