> Wonder why China thought this was a worthy investment. Guizhou is a poor part of China, without much international tourism or trade. Could be part of a bit of internal “not leaving anyone behind” propaganda, rather than a concern for national or international trade. Less cynically, it could be a genuine attempt to help pull the area up economically. Lack of good transport infrastructure can be a major factor among those that hold areas back in that regard. |
