The thing is its much harder to higher a good junior dev. With a senior dev i can ask about the [hardest/most interesting/thing you would like to talk about] bug and talk through how they solved it to understand how their brain works. With a Jr you basically need to spend an hour pair programming to sus out the great ones and no one has yet put in the time to filter out the bottom X0%. |
